illshareit.com has a new look!

For those unfamiliar with the site, illshareit.com helps patrons find nearby SHARE libraries.

Previously the site only allowed searching by zip code, which didn't always give the best results. The site now allows patrons to search by their home address, town, or zip code and uses Google Places to provide location auto complete which all help to provide patrons with more accurate results.

We also took this opportunity to make the site more user-friendly and gave it a fresh coat of paint. Once a patron enters their address, the map will place pins showing the location of SHARE libraries around them. There are even different pin colors for each type of library: red for public, green for school, yellow for college, and light blue for special libraries so patrons can visually find their library faster.

To ensure that patron information remains secure, the site now uses a security certificate from Let's Encrypt (a free, automated, and open certificate authority) to safeguard communication for your patrons to the site.

As privacy is in the forefront of many of our patrons' minds, we'd like everyone to know that SHARE does not store any records of searches made on illshareit.com. As with any site that displays a Google map, anyone using illshareit.com is subject to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
