The new Cloud Library app was released earlier this week! Highlights include: the changed logo, a virtual patron barcode available in Settings, and Teen/Kids tabs in the Browse area. iOS and Android devices should have updated automatically or prompted the user to update. We also learned this week that the Cloud Library is now offering a digital patron registration option via the app. This is a service that we would need to opt-in to and have activated if we choose to use it. We’ll be doing more research and polling our members of course, to determine whether or not it would be appropriate to do so.
Recorded Books is now providing a shared Zinio collection option for school libraries within the Illinois Heartland Library System. We need at least 10 school libraries to commit to participation this year to get started and we’re very nearly there.
