Polaris Leap is an alternatve to Polaris Original that allows staff to perform circulation on a web browser. Use the link http://leap.illinoisheartland.org to access Polaris Leap. Logging in to Polaris Leap is slightly different than Polaris Original.

Polaris Leap will prompt you to type in your domain and username as well as your password. The domain name is simply SHARE (all caps) followed by a backslash. The backslash key is usually just above the enter key on a standard keyboard. Your username will be your first name followed by your last name with a period separating them. This looks like SHARE\Firstname.Lastname, except you will insert your name instead. The password for Polaris Leap is the same as your password for Polaris original. If you have forgotten your password, use our password reset tool to reset it. Once you have entered your domain\username and password, click on “SIGN IN”.

Once you have signed in, Polaris Leap will prompt you to select your branch and workstation. Select your library from the branch dropdown menu. If your library has multiple branches, make sure to select the correct branch—the branch name will be displayed after the library name in the dropdown menu. The workstation you select will depend on your library’s policy. Some libraries keep track of the circulation numbers from each workstation; others do not. Contact your supervisor if you are not sure what workstation to select. Once you have selected both your branch and workstation, click on “CONTINUE”. This will take you to the Polaris Leap home screen.
