SHARE staff have been working hard to resolve the issue with Verizon customers not receiving Polaris text notifications. We have chosen MessageBee, a service of Unique Management Services, Inc., to send SMS text messages directly to patrons, with simple and understandable messages.
Patrons with text notifications will receive messages like hold alerts, overdue notices, billing notices, almost due reminders, and library card expiration reminders for libraries that have those settings enabled. All other notifications, like emails and telephony phone calls, will still be sent through Polaris. Neither member libraries nor patrons will need to take any action. This service is coming soon!
