You can now use the “Name on Identification” field for a legal name and use the original registration field for a preferred first name. This is a great way to personalize your communications to patrons, by using the name they prefer!
Polaris also has an option to choose N/A instead of male or female to indicate gender, if your library records that information. Please contact Dena Porter if you prefer to have the gender field in the patron registration totally removed. Right now, the (none) option is selected by default, unless it is manually changed.
