The following proposed policies were presented at the December 9, 2020 SHARE Membership Meeting and all were approved by vote by member libraries.

For Cataloging Libraries: (Requires a quorum of 40 cataloging libraries)

Proposed Policy #1: Passed with a vote of 57 Yes and 1 No

Recording Publication and Copyright Dates in Polaris Bibliographic Records for Books—provides examples for MARC coding of publication dates and copyright dates in records for books.

Proposed Policy #2: Passed with a vote of 57 Yes and 0 No

Recording Publication Information for Self-Published Items—provides guidelines for determining a publisher and recording publication information in bibliographic records for self-published resources.

Proposed Policy #3: Passed with a vote of 55 Yes and 2 No

Use of ISBD Punctuation—states that bibliographic records in Polaris must contain full International Standard Bibliographic Description (ISBD) punctuation, including punctuation between subfields and ending punctuation.

For all Member Libraries: (Requires a quorum of 170 member libraries)

Proposed Policy #4: Passed with a vote of 176 Yes and 6 No

Public Library Representation—the SHARE Executive Council proposed changing the SHARE governance, specifically the population sizes of public library representatives.
