Lesley Zavediuk: (11/16/2016 13:05) Sorry everyone! Due to technical difficulties we were a bit delayed getting into the Adobe room.

Lesley Zavediuk: (13:06) Welcome to SHARE Chat. Today's topic is Circ and Resource Sharing - what would you all like to discuss today?

Esther Curry--C.E. Brehm Memorial PLD: (13:07) People may not remember that the chat is today--there was not a reminder email.

Lesley Zavediuk: (13:07) Hi Esther! I sent a reminder email - let me find out what happened.

Lesley Zavediuk: (13:08) Well - it appears we are having more than one technical difficulty today. Gotta love technology! Chris is sending out another - last minute reminder as we speak.

Lesley Zavediuk: (13:09) I hope you are all having less technical difficulties than we are!

Esther Curry--C.E. Brehm Memorial PLD: (13:10) I got the one about Cloud Library, but that was all

Lesley Zavediuk: (13:11) Speaking of the CLoud Library - I just got the 'all clear' email from Bibliotheca. It appears there is still small issue with the checkout process of eAudiobooks, but I would guess they will have that fixed up pretty quick.

Lesley Zavediuk: (13:11) Patron should be able to access their books and checkout eBooks with no problem.

Sue Pearson: (13:15) Is anyone having any circulation issues?

Lesley Zavediuk: (13:20) Let's do a quick poll - shall we? The next SHARE Circulation forum would be scheduled for Tuesday, December 20. We've skipped November becasue that's the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Should we have one in December? Should we change the date? Or shall we wait until the new year and start fresh in January? :)

Mary @ Hayner: (13:20) Either way works for me.

Kay.Burrous South Macon: (13:21) I can do either.

Susan - Sparta Public Library: (13:22) Either way is ok with me.

Kathy Goleman - Divernon Township Library: (13:23) Eitherr way is good for me also!

Amanda Endicott @ Edwardsville Public Library: (13:23) I'm available either way.

Lesley Zavediuk: (13:24) We'll probably conduct the next meeting - whether its in December or January by Zoom again - so you can attend, no matter where you are! Then we'll start alternating between in-person meetings and Zoom so we can still visit your libraries.

Sue Pearson: (13:25) You all are unusually quiet today!

Angie--Breese: (13:28) Lesley Zavediuk.....you are saying that the meetings in both November and December are on Tuesdays. Shouldn't it be Wednesdays?

Lesley Zavediuk: (13:29) SHARE Circulation Forums happen on the fourth Tuesday of the month. SHARE Chats happen every Wednesday right here at 1:00. :)

Angie--Breese: (13:29) Ahhh...gotcha!

Angie--Breese: (13:29) I'm discombobulated today.

Loretta: (13:30) Question. Can I get clarification on the difference between "transferred" and "in transit" please? This came up with staff recently and no one knew the answer.

Sue Pearson: (13:31) Transferred means the item is on the way to fill a hold. In Transit means the item is on its way back home.

Brenda Gilpatrick-Red Bud Public: (13:34) I can do either also, but really think you might want to skip December. It's coming way too fast as it is!

Lesley Zavediuk: (13:35) That's true Brenda! And who knows what the weather will be like? Do any of you have fun programs coming up for the holidays?

Loretta: (13:37) So the differenceis which direction the material is going?

Laura: (13:37) We recently took a survey on what we wanted as the next upgrade to Polaris. Have any decisions been made?

Sue Pearson: (13:37) I haven't heard anything yet.

Lesley Zavediuk: (13:39) Laura - I think it usually takes a little bit of time. I'm not sure how long Traci will leave the voting open for our members - then from that list we submit a more refined list of what we want to Polaris and then it depends on how other Polaris users vote too.

Christina Hayes- Hartford Public Library: (13:39) The Hartford Public Library is having an Old Fashion Christmas get together on December 11 from 5-8. We have face painting, cookies and punch, trolly rides, Santa to have Pictures with, and a balloon guy that is Awesome.

Laura: (13:39) Ok, thank you Lesley

Lesley Zavediuk: (13:44) And - just to let you know.... I just received the final 'all clear' from Cloud Support staff. The unplanned outage is over and the eAudiobook issue is resolved. They are often so quick to solve problems that I can barely get the info out to all of you - and that's a good thing!

Kay.Burrous South Macon: (13:46) We have had Next of Kiln here to make ornaments for the children for Xmas. They made an Elf! Parents, kids and all enjoyed pizza, cookies and drinks.

Laura: (13:47) Lesley, if our library wants to request an ebook to be purchased for our book club, should we just email you?

Lesley Zavediuk: (13:48) Yes. Unless your library has a shopping cart - then you can just put the item in there and I'll purchase it on Friday. :)

Laura: (13:49) Ok...thanks!

Laura: (13:50) Sue, is there a report that we get that lists any bounced or unable to deliver emails to patrons?

Sue Pearson: (13:51) Yes, this is something we have to add to your profile.

Sue Pearson: (13:51) It's actually not a report but an email.

Laura: (13:52) Our director has been receiving the emails and then forwards them to me. Is there a simpler way to handle this?

Sue Pearson: (13:53) If it's okay with the director the email can be changed. There's only a spot for one email addres.

Laura: (13:53) Ok thanks Sue

Mary @ Hayner: (13:54) I used to run a daily report for "bad" email addresses and phone numbers (for text messages) when the holds and/or overdue notices were sent out. But the report was always empty. And now I can't find the report anymore. I have been receiving emails from Kim Sparks regarding these bad email addresses and phone numbers. Does anyone know where the report can be found now? And why it might have always been empty?

Esther Curry--C.E. Brehm Memorial PLD: (13:54) Sue-is that a different report thatn the summary of notices? I receive that, but it doesn't show if there are bounced email or txt messages.

Sue Pearson: (13:55) No, I don't think it's the same thing.

Sue Pearson: (13:55) Traci said the bounced email notices are gathered by her and then sent to the libraries.

Laura: (13:55) The summary does not show bad emails

Mary @ Hayner: (13:56) I'm totally fine with using the email from Kim. In fact, it's really helpful especially since the reports were always empty.

Esther Curry--C.E. Brehm Memorial PLD: (13:56) Okay

Jane Z - Lake Land College: (13:56) I would guess that the report Mary is talking about only checked that the format of the phone number or e-mail address was correct.

Kim: (13:58) they are two different reports. The incorrect email reprt you only receive if the email bounces back to the sender and needs an update on the patron account.

Mary @ Hayner: (14:01) I like receiving the emails. It allows me to clean up bad patron records.

Laura: (14:01) I agree Mary

Lesley Zavediuk: (14:02) Well, we're nearly at 2:00. Any other questions for the good of the order?

Christina Hayes- Hartford Public Library: (14:02) Thanks again..

Sue Pearson: (14:02) Thanks all. Enjoy the rest of your day!
