The IHLS Communications Department has created a customizable Canva template so SHARE members can communicate with stakeholders easily and effectively. Using data from the SHARE Data Dashboard and a few simple calculations, you can make a professional and informative flyer to distribute to patrons, board members, students, and other stakeholders. This template includes multiple examples and instructions on how to customize it.

Member Comment Requested for the Proposed AI/ Computer-Generated Material Policy

The SHARE Bibliographic and Cataloging Standards Committee has decided to advance a proposed AI/Computer Generated Material policy for member comment. Upcoming upgrade to Polaris/Leap Version 7.8

The upgrade to Polaris/Leap Version 7.8 is scheduled to take place during the overnight hours on December 13, 2025. We are pleased to implement this update and look forward to the enhanced features and functionality it will provide for library staff. Some notable new features include:

Renewal Count Statistics in Leap 

The Item Record workform and the Bibliographic Record workform now display renewal count statistics. On each workform, the Statistics view now includes the following statistics for the item or bibliographic record:

Member Comment Requested: Cards for Kids and Cards for Veterans

The SHARE Circulation & Resource Sharing Committee recently reviewed a request to add Cards for Kids and Cards for Veterans patron type, in order to make annual reporting easier. The state library now requires data on these two categories of non-resident patron types.  

Right now, we do have those two card categories in a statistical class that are available in the data dashboards, but data has to be entered in the patron registration screen, in the statistical class field.
