Updates:
We highly recommend upgrading to a supported version of Windows, as future updates may cause problems connecting to Polaris using Windows 7, and there may not be a fix readily available if/when this occurs.
You will need the following updates for the 64-bit version of Windows 7 in order to use the Polaris Staff Client:
- Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (your computer should have this already)
- The following Windows Updates installed in the order shown below:
Printing:
Once your computer has been updated you will also need to download and install the following to enable printing from the Polaris Staff Client:
- ScrewDrivers v6 client (64-bit) (Future versions of ScrewDrivers will not work with Windows 7)
NOTE: If you receive the following error message when installing the Windows 7 updates or ScrewDrivers:
"This installation package is not supported by this processor type. Contact your product vendor."
...then you are running a 32-bit version of Windows 7 and will need to install these updates instead (again, in order and in addition to having Service Pack 1 already installed):
- Windows Update KB2574819
- Windows Update KB2830477
- Windows Update KB2857650
- Windows Update KB2913751
- Windows Update KB2923545 (RDP 8.1)
...as well as this version of ScrewDrivers:
Future versions of ScrewDrivers will no longer be compatible with Windows 7 or any 32-bit versions of Windows. To ensure future compatibility, please install a 64-bit version of Windows 10 or later.
